Does Schmidt Builders LLC draft floor plans?

Schmidt Builders LLC does some in-house drafting. Although we are not architects, we can draft plans that meet permit requirements.

What does a new home cost per square foot?

We quote each home individually based on its own merits. Price per square foot varies with the number of bathrooms, how large the kitchen is, and various other factors.

Do you help with financing?

No. Schmidt Builders does not provide financing. Once you have financing in place, Schmidt Builders will work together with you and your financial institution.

How long does it take to start building after signing the contract?

Some time is required to get the necessary permits. Other factors affecting the amount of time from signing a contract until starting to build; are weather, our current workload, and getting final confirmation on some plan details.

What decisions need to be made while building a new home?

Some questions will come up during the building process. We try to stay ahead of the game by using construction management software that brings up most of the questions well ahead of the time answers are needed.

Can I choose the materials used in my home?

Yes! One of the benefits of working with Schmidt Builders to create your custom home is the ability to select allowance items such as flooring, doors & windows, cabinetry, countertops, appliances, light fixtures, closet shelving design, etc.

When should I start shopping for items that we have choices on?

It is a good idea to start looking as soon as you have signed a contract. It may not be necessary to purchase the items immediately unless they have extended lead times. Schmidt Builders does not provide storage for “allowance items.”
